Everything you need to know

Best time to visit

Madeira is a year-round island — Funchal winters still average ~20 °C. Late April–June and September–October are the sweet spots for hiking: warm, drier and stable. July–August are warmest and busiest; the north is greener and wetter than the sunny south, so we simply chase the good weather around the island.

Getting around

Roads are excellent but steep, with tight hairpins and a lot of tunnels; buses barely serve the scenic north and interior. With us you don't drive at all — we handle the wheel, the parking and the timing, so you just watch the island roll by.

What to pack

Grippy hiking shoes, a light waterproof shell and warm layers (summits are cold, even in summer), a head-torch for the levada tunnels, sun cream and water. For sea days, swimwear and water shoes for the lava rock. We'll advise per tour.

Airport & transfers

Madeira's airport (FNC) sits about 20–25 minutes east of Funchal. Skip the taxi queue: we meet your flight by name, help with luggage and drive you straight to your hotel — and back again when it's time to leave.
